BACKGROUND

HUD issued a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) which appropriates $225 million in competitive grant funding for the preservation and revitalization of manufactured housing and eligible manufactured housing communities. Congress has directed HUD to undertake a competition using the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) statutory and regulatory framework for this first-of-its-kind initiative. The Preservation and Reinvestment Initiative for Community Enhancement supports communities in their efforts to maintain, protect, and stabilize manufactured housing and manufactured housing communities (MHCs).

Copies of the grant application will be available at the offices of the City Secretary located in City Hall at 1110 Houston St., the Department of Community Development, located at 1301 Farragut, 3rd Floor, East Wing, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and at the Laredo Public Library located at 1120 E. Calton Road during the hours of operation. An electronic version will also be available on the City’s website at https://www.cityoflaredo.com/departments/community-development.
