For a total contract value of $8,000,000.00. The term of this contract shall be for a period of two (2) years beginning as of the date of its execution, and may be extended on an as-needed basis. Funding is available in the respective user department’s operation funds.

BACKGROUND
The City of Laredo went out on Formal Bid solicitations through Cit-E-Bid for awarding a supply contract for Public Works materials. Staff has reviewed the bid and is recommending that a contract be awarded to the Patmo Concrete, Laredo, Texas, for the purchase of ready mix cement used in street paving, street reconstruction, and general repair projects for all City departments. The term of this contract shall be for a period of two (2) years beginning as of the date of its execution, and may be extended for 1 additional two (2) year period.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
These materials are used by city departments required for all city paving, repair and construction projects. The purpose of this contract is to establish prices for the commodities or services needed, should the City need to purchase these commodities or services. The City’s obligation for performance of an annual supply contract beyond the current fiscal year is contingent upon the availability of appropriated funds from which payments for the contract purchases can be made. If no funds are appropriated and budgeted during the next fiscal year, this contract becomes null and void.
