An Ordinance of the City of Laredo, Texas amending Chapter 23, Section 23-6 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Laredo to amend the field rental fees to $150.00 per field, $35.00 for lights, $40.00 for marking, $150.00 for concession, deposit of 40% of total rental fees and $750.00 for Complex Rental Rate. Revenues are from funds generated by the field rental fees and will be used for supplies, and maintenance of the facilities; containing a savings clause; containing a severability clause and, providing an effective date. New fees will be deposited into General Fund and Recreation Fund.

PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION
On February 7, 2022, City Council approved the amendment of Chapter 23, Section 23-4 of the Code of Ordinances and Ordinance 2017-0-139 to add North Central Park Fitness Center and recreation center programing fees for instructional programing, a $60.00 fee for the summer playground program, and recreation center membership fees of $ 15.00 per quarter or $50.00 annually.
On April 1, 2019, City Council approved the amendment of Chapter 23, Parks and Leisure Services Department, providing for the renaming of Parks and Leisure Services to Parks and Recreation Department; allowing free membership to recreational facilities for persons ages sixty-two and older; allowing free membership to recreational facilities for veterans; providing for the renumbering of certain sections of Chapter 23; providing for rental fees for flag football, rugby, Freddy Benavides Sisters of Mercy Lazy River Pool and Water Slide Complex and related user fees.
BACKGROUND
The Department has identified a need to increase rental fees and establish policies regarding requests and cancellations of field rentals as the demand for fields has increased.
