BACKGROUND
The City of Laredo Public Health Department - Animal Care Services issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for qualified Wildlife Management Professionals or Firms with expertise in developing and implementing wildlife population control plans. The primary objective is to reduce the population of wild hogs (Sus scrofa) and javelinas (Pecaro tajacu) within the city limits and surrounding areas, which have increasingly become a threat to public safety, property, and the local ecosystem body.
