PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION

On October 2, 2020, a motion was approved to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding the development of the Vallecillo Road Project with the Webb County-City of Laredo Regional Mobility Authority (WC-CL RMA), Killam Development, Ltd., and Killam Ranch Properties, Ltd., establishing commitments for project funding and the donation of necessary right-of-way.

BACKGROUND

The Vallecillo Road Project is a public-private partnership intended to improve mobility, alleviate traffic congestion, and support future development in northwest Laredo. The project will provide a new roadway connection between FM 1472 (Mines Road) at Muller Memorial Boulevard and the IH-35 Southbound Frontage Road.
As part of this commitment, Killam Ranch Properties, Ltd., has agreed to donate three parcels of land to the City of Laredo. Acceptance of these donations will secure the necessary right-of-way and allow the project to continue advancing toward construction.
