PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION

Item# 26-552 “Consideration to award contract RFP-2026-035 to provide Executive Recruitment and Leadership Services to Strategic Government Resources to provide the City with professional services to assist with recruiting, assessing and placing executive level and senior staff positions as requested.” Was approved on March 16, 2026 by City Council.

 

BACKGROUND

The City of Laredo previously entered into a contract with Strategic Government Resources (SGR) under RFP#2026-035 for Executive Recruitment and Leadership Services. Due to ongoing operational needs and continued utilization of these services, an amendment to the contract is necessary to adjust the compensation structure.

This adjustment is necessary due to higher-than-anticipated utilization of executive recruitment and leadership consulting services to address critical vacancies, transitional leadership needs, and ongoing organizational development efforts. Based on current service engagements, anticipated expenditures exceed the originally approved annual amount. The increased capacity will ensure the City can continue to respond in a timely and effective manner to executive staffing demands and maintain continuity of operations.

All other terms and conditions remain unchanged, including the contract term of two (2) years with three (3) one (1) year extensions contingent upon budget appropriations. Funding is available in the respective departmental budgets.
