PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION

On January 22, 2019, City Council authorized the City Manager to negotiate and execute a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Laredo and Webb County Drainage District No. 1 regarding access and maintenance of City-owned canals, drains, ditches and levees, detention ponds, ponds, drainage easements, drainage structures, and other improvements within the Drainage District boundaries.

BACKGROUND

The Oil Patch plan proposes to compliment the existing system by installing 165 LF of48” RCP, 3 - 6’x6’ junction boxes, 5 - 10’ inlets with 24” RCP pipes, and 3 earthen berms within the platted Southern commercial property. This system will be installed parallel to the existing system currently in place along the center of Oil Patch Road and increase the runoff capture from 32 CFS to 81 CFS. This overall capture will not impact the existing 42” RCP downstream as the max Q for the existing 42” RCP is 72 CFS. This system has been designed to avoid existing public and private utilities. An existing irrigation service will need to be adjusted as part of this construction at Station ±0+40.
