BACKGROUND

The proposed settlement is being implemented in connections with Purdue’s bankruptcy proceedings, and includes, among other components, the resolution of Purdue’s claims. Funding is distributed to states according to the allocation agreement reached among the Attorneys General. Through the Opioid Abatement Settlement Fund, the City of Laredo Public Health Department will be able to implement a wide variety of strategies to combat the opioid crisis, including prevention, treatment, recovery, and harm reduction initiatives.
