Consideration to authorize the City Manager to award contract RFQ 2026-040 for Afterhours Physician/Medical Services with Laredo Medical Examiners/Nuestra Salud Health Clinic PC, Laredo, TX to provide Afterhours Physician /Medical Services to City of Laredo employees, City Retirees, and covered dependents enrolled in the City’s Medical Health Plan in the total amount of $80,000.00 per year. The total contract value (2 years and 5 months) shall not exceed $230,000.00. The initial term of this Agreement shall commence on April 21, 2026, and shall continue through September 30, 2026, to complete the City’s Fiscal Year 2025-2026. This Agreement may be renewed for up to two (2) additional one (1) year terms, beginning October 1, 2026, upon mutual written agreement of both parties and subject to the availability of appropriated funds. Funding is available in the Employee Wellness Department.

BACKGROUND
The intent of this contract is to address low-acuity, non-emergent medical needs through consultation, evaluation, limited treatment, and select diagnostic testing, consistent with services typically provided at the EHW Clinic, while maintaining appropriate utilization and cost control. The RFQ was publicly advertised and posted in accordance with the City’s procurement policies.
