PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION

On November 4, 2024, City Council approved an ordinance authorizing the City Manager to appropriate revenue and expenditure funds in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000.00 for the Springfield Phase 4 Extension Project. Funding is available in the Capital Grants. Webb County - City of Laredo Regional Mobile Authority (WC-CL RMA) shall provide the Phase 4 Funding Commitment, on a cost-reimbursement basis, for costs incurred by the City in performing the Phase 4 Construction Services.

On April 20, 2020, City Council approved to award a professional services contract to Gilpin Engineering Company, Laredo, Texas for an amount not to exceed $758,122.00 for the design and preparation of plans and specification for the Springfield Avenue Extension from the southern end near Del Mar Blvd. to San Isidro Parkway/Bob Bullock Loop on the northern end (Phases 2 &3). Design work is to be done on a fast track basis. Funding is available in the 2019 CO Bond.

 

BACKGROUND

The Project consists of Constructing approximately 2400 SY of roadway pavement, 11,700 SF of sidewalks, 600 LF of 12" PVC Water Main, with related ramps, striping, landscape, appurtenances, and incidentals.

Construction contract time will be 90 working days.

A total of (6) bids were received at the City Secretary’s office Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 4:00PM which were publicly opened, read and taken advertisement on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 9:00AM.
