BACKGROUND
The City of Laredo Public Health Department continues to provide a wide range of family support and health care community resource activities for children and young adults with special needs through funding from the Texas Department of State Health Services. Through the Children/Youth with Special Health Care Needs System Development Group Family Support and Community Resources (FSCR) Program, the City of Laredo Public Health Department serves families with children and youth with chronic health care conditions and growth and developmental issues that include respite services, community-based crisis prevention/intervention planning and implementation, assuring families access to care and support services, educational outreach trainings/workshops, parent to parent networking and support, and other activities that support children/youth with special health care needs and their families living in the community.
