BACKGROUND
The La Bota Elevated Storage Tank is currently undergoing maintenance and repainting. The contractor has offered to install the attached logo, as presented, at no additional cost to the City if a decision is made within the current project schedule and before the tank is refilled and returned to operation.
This item is being presented to the City Council for consideration of the attached logo only, as submitted. Staff is not making a recommendation regarding artistic preference, political significance, or endorsement of the content of the proposed logo. The purpose of this item is to obtain Council direction within the available project timeline.
The attached logo has been reviewed and approved by Legal for placement consideration. The contractor’s role is limited to applying the logo as authorized by the City. The contractor shall bear no responsibility or liability for the selection, content, approval, or authorization of the logo.
Any alternative artwork, redesign, modification, or more complex graphic treatment beyond the attached logo would result in additional delays and cost to the City.

Staff respectfully requests that the City Council decide on this item as soon as practicable, as the contractor’s no-cost offer is limited to the current project schedule and the tank’s return to operation is pending timely approval and completion of the work.

Fiscal Impact
There is no fiscal impact associated with installation of the attached logo, as presented, if approved during the current project timeline.
Any alternative artwork, redesign, modification, or more complex graphic treatment would require additional expenditures estimated between $30,000 and $40,000.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
No additional funding source is required if the attached logo, as presented, is approved within the current project schedule. No Utility Department funds or bond funds are authorized for any alternative artwork, redesign, or additional graphic work.
