Consideration to renew annual medical service contract FY23-011 with Laredo Occupational Center, LLC, Laredo, Texas in an amount up to $40,100.00 to provide occupational medical services for the Laredo Transit Management. The term of this contract shall be for a (1) one-year period beginning as of the date of its execution. This is the first of two extension periods. Funding is available in the Laredo Transit Management Operations Fund.

BACKGROUND
In accordance with stated and federal law, El Metro is committed to providing its employees with a high level of medical treatment for work/related injuries and or illnesses. In addition, El Metro is committed to ensuring that the workforce and citizens are safe under the guidelines of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Drug and Alcohol Testing program under the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991. These rules apply to grant recipients of Urbanized Area Section 5307 and are encompassed in 49 CFR Part 655, Prevention of Alcohol Misuse and Prohibited Drug Use in Transit Operations. Other services provided by the Occupational Medical provider include pre-employment testing and DOT physicals.
The term of this contract shall be for a one (1) year period beginning as of the date of its execution. This contract may be extended for another one (1) year extension period.
This contract shall be the responsibility of and administered by the department and the vendor.
