PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION
On March 18, 2024, City Council approved to award a professional services contract to Redline Architecture, LLC., Laredo, Texas, in the amount not to exceed $104,162.00 to provide basic services, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, bid phase/contractor selection, and construction administration for the Economic Development and 311 Office Relocation, to be located at El Portal.
Contract time is for the duration of the project. Funding is available in the 2023 Certificate of Obligation Bond.
BACKGROUND
On August 10, 2023, City Council approved the Capital Improvement Plan.
On October 3, 2022 City Council approved the selection of consultants for RFQ FY22-ENG-37 General Architectural Services for Existing Buildings, Facilities, Other Amenities and Proposed Construction Projects FY2023 - FY2026, and authorizing the Interim City Manager to negotiate professional service contracts for each respective project assigned on a rotation basis. Professional service contracts will be issued per project upon funding available for a two (2) year term, with one (1) option for a two (2) year renewal, for a total term of four (4) years beginning October 4, 2022, and ending September 30, 2026. Six (6) firms responded to the Request for Qualifications on or before Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 4:00 P.M. The evaluation committee recommends the selection of the following consultants based on the final rankings below:
1. Sepulveda Associates Architects, Inc., Laredo, Texas
2. ABLE City, LLC., Laredo, Texas
3. Slay Architecture, LLC., Laredo, Texas
4. Redline Architecture, LLC., Laredo, Texas
5. Cavazos & Associates Architects, PLLC., Laredo, Texas
Funding will not exceed $50,000.00 per project, per vendor in the respective budget
account unless authorized otherwise by City Council. There is no financial impact at
this time.
Consultant work performance of services will be monitored in accordance with the
established guidelines and any deficiencies may result in removal from the rotation list.
