Summary of alignment:
Entering into negotiations with SKG Aviation services is strongly aligned with the Viva Laredo Plan. First, entering into an agreement with a developer for this land aligns with goal 9.3 with is to provide the necessary environment for entrepreneurs to find success in Laredo. Second, it enables the safe and efficient movement of good visa Air. And lastly, it increases our role as an international hub for international trade and other economic activities in our region.

BACKGROUND
The Airport is an economic generator for the City of Laredo. Because of the potential that additional aeronautical development could have on the Airport, the City and the region, the Laredo International Airport advertised RFP FY25-079 to solicit proposals from interested parties for developing at the Laredo International Airport. The parcel which is available for development consists of approximately 3.0 acres of previously developed airport property on the west side of the airfield directly adjacent to the cargo apron facilities.
The Airport received one (1) proposal from SKG Aviation Services, LLC, a division of SK Group. The proposal was evaluated by the City of Laredo Committee Teram. Evaluation scoring was based on the following criteria: Examples of similar projects or developments, conceptual ideas for proposed development, business plan including lease term, estimate cost for project, development timeline, description of qualification, and company background.
