A-2024-R-13 | 24-C-181 1. Discussion with possible action to direct management and the Convention and Visitors Bureau to create an implement able plan to identify historical events in the City and to highlight these locations to explicitly appeal to tourists, to include way-finding signs, possible infrastructure, and other markers as needed.
BACKGROUND
The CVB has collaborated with the WCHF in the past and has now identified several projects in which both entities can collaborate to increase the promotion of historical tourism in the destination. CVB has also collaborated with the TIRZ for the creation of way finding signage in downtown.
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION
The Advisory Committee has agreed on the importance of promoting the history of Laredo as an attraction to increase visitation.
