BACKGROUND
After the South Laredo Plant expansion in 2014, two (2) 127-hp influent pumps were installed and were put in sequence in order to work during low flow, thus saving power. Currently, one of the two pumps is out for repairs, the repair cost is higher than the cost of a new pump and we are looking to replace the damaged pump as a contingency measure due to the expected lifespan of 7 to 10 years. This equipment operates constantly, 24/7/365, to manage influent flows.
