BACKGROUND

A 25-foot deep manhole collapsed at the intersection of Pinder Avenue and Sanchez Street.  Three (3) different gravity sanitary sewer lines discharge into the main collector. Movac Service Company was hired to bypass and control the sewer flow during the repair to avoid raw sewage overflows. The repair work took two weeks because existing water main lines existed above the sanitary sewer collector which needed to be rerouted.  Additionally, the construction involved deep excavation work and placing of trench safety measures to minimize the hazardous and dangerous work conditions for the employees.  Repair work is complete and service to the area was maintained
